Liberty Ridge
WHAT IS LIBERTY RIDGE?
Liberty Ridge is a plan, a promise, and a place to help the needs of people with FASD and also the parents that care for them.
FASD stands for “Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders” that can be different kinds of brain damages caused by being exposed to Alcohol before birth.
Most people with FASD have a hard time living independently and safely in the community. Some people say it’s impossible and don’t want us to even try. That’s why this is not just a plan—it’s a movement!
WHY SHOULD WE BUILD IT?
So people with FASD can find their way to independence and safety. Also to help themselves find jobs, health care, recreation, and relationships -- everything it takes to have good life. Liberty Ridge will have lots of supports when they are needed.
WHY AM I TALKING ABOUT THIS?
I have a need in life to build a future for the families and the ones with FASD, The older ones, my friends, and the younger ones to come. We are going to need a lot of help from people like you to make this happen.
WHAT SHOULD OR CAN WE DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN?
We have to do a lot of planning, find a lot of support and money, develop programs, and sign up people to live and work there. Most of all we need people like you to understand.

Welcome
Liberty Ridge - Hope for a Future
_______________________________________________
Liberty Ridge is a plan, and a place, and a promise. Young adults with FASD and the adults who care about them developed the idea. We envision a training center, community- based homes and work opportunities that will allow young adults the chance to flourish in an atmosphere of
Community, Interdependence, Contribution
As one of the planning group put it, “This isn’t about housing; it’s a movement.” Over the coming period, we expect to begin formal planning, seek financial resources, and begin developing programs.

Help Us Grow Liberty Ridge
Liberty Ridge is a concept of building independence for persons with brain differences and body differences. I, your guide dog, Sir Limey, will help you create new effective living spaces. Some ideas will be organization, some will be schooling and jobs, others will be ways to have fun. But most important they will be written because I listen to you and what you need. Hopefully my writing will be read by those who have the power to change things.

Welcome to Grow Liberty Ridge
Liberty Ridge is a blogsite for persons with brain and body differences to provide information of our need to create more independent lifestyles. We hope that by sharing our ideas we will begin to climb Liberty Ridge. The moderator is a young adult with brain differences and his service dog Limey. We will be using Limey as our host.
